  Ehrengast 2011 | Guest of Honour 2011
Mennica Polska | Mint of Poland

Coins From Poland – an Exquisite Aesthetic Pleasure

When Poland joined the European Union in 2004, it had already entered the focus of attention of the international numismatic market. The country’s changeful political history, marked in the past centuries most notably by its neighboring states Russia, Germany and Austria, but for quite some time also by Swedish influences, has contributed to its highly multifarious and historically interesting numismatic landscape.

Until today, the old-established Polish Mint has remained true to its tradition and original aspiration formulated by King Stanislaw August Ponia-towski – to strike the most beautiful coins in the world. Various coins have received international awards, e.g. the 2-zloty coin honored as “The most beautiful circulation coin in the world” (2006) – proof of the excellence of the Warsaw designers and engravers. As guest of honor of next year’s World Money Fair, Mennica Polska will present a rich panoply of its numismatic treasures. A pleasure you should not miss!
